Mont Passot was once a volcano. It owes its name to Captain Pierre Passot who was part of the French marine artillery army.
Mont Passot is the highest point of the island, in 8 km you will reach an altitude of 387m compared to sea level. One of the most visited places in Nosy Be, the hill of Mont Passot culminates at 329 m in height and offers a 360° view thanks to its large panoramic terrace. This exceptional site is recognized for its breathtaking beauty and exceptional biodiversity. Surrounded by eight small crater lakes (considered sacred), they are home to unique freshwater fish. This natural belvedere will allow lovers of sumptuous landscapes to have a breathtaking view of the Mozambique Channel and thus return with memories of unforgettable beauty. The road which will take you to Mont Passot is entirely asphalted and very pleasant, you will be able to admire several lakes over the course of a few kilometers of ascent.
